Default So few family friendly movies

I get so tired of not being able to find very many family friendly movies. It is so rare that a "G" rated movie comes out and seems like most of the ones geared towards kids are "PG". It bugs me that a perfectly good movie that COULD be rated "G" has to add in a few swear words to make it then move up to a "PG".

I go to the video store and it is really hard to find something appropriate for both my 5 year old and 12 year old to enjoy. And finding a movie in the theater to go to as a family is even harder :-(

Default Chronicles of Narnia

The Chron. of Narnia is a great movie for the entire family! It gives a message of morals to adults and children, anyone that hasnt seen it, needs to.

Default Chronicles Of Narnia

I agree. The movie is also very faithful to the book. That is very rare!

Our favorite family movies are those that we have found at rummage sales and thrift stores: older movies with a family theme. Usually they are very cheap (25 cents or so) and really grab my kids attention.

Some that we have gotten lately that they love:

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Wild Horses Can't Be Broken
No More Baths!

We also love the Chronicles of Narnia, but recently purchased the BBC version of all three movies. My kids love watching and comparing the U.S. version.

Great thread idea! Thanks for sharing...

Smile Family Feature Movies

Have you heard of these? There are nice..clean, and great for family viewing. The video stores and even libraries sometimes have these. Ask for the Feature Family. One is the "The Buttercream Gang"..but they have different ones out..quite a few. I know many homeschoolers watch these too!
